6. Todays story is about being kind. The word for it in Hebrew is chesed. Can you say chesed? It means to be kind. How can you be kind to people when they come to your house?

A long time ago there was a man named Abraham who was married to Sarah, and they lived in tents. Sarah was very good and kind to people and over her tent was a shachina, which means that people could tell that God was hanging out there. I think that maybe it looked like a cloud. Abraham and Sarah had a son Isaac who they loved very much.

Abraham wanted his son Isaac to marry someone with chesed. Do you remember what that is? He sent his special helper Eliezar to the town to find someone special. But town was so far away that he had to ride camels to get there. When he got to the town he was very thirsty and so was his camel. He met a girl named Rebecca, who was very kind to Isaac. She brought him water, and then she brought water for the camels to drink, and she made Eliezer feel welcome. Eliezar saw that Rebecca had chesed, and that she was the right person for Isaac to marry. Isaac and Rebecca met and they grew to love each other and got married. Rebecca moved into Sarah's tent, and God's shachina stayed over the tent.
